Here's piece of the GW discussion I was unaware of --> trapped methane in Arctic and Siberian permafrost. Pretty stark - says 4.5 billion people could die from global warming related causes by 2012 (twenty-twelve!).

Stranger than fiction: CDN gov't plans to 'reclassify' 16 lakes for toxic dumping

16 Canadian lakes are slated to be officially but quietly "reclassified" as toxic dump sites for mines. The lakes include prime wilderness fishing lakes from B.C. to Newfoundland.
